Murals

Most often seen on the exterior of buildings or interior walls, murals tend to be much larger than traditional paintings. Murals can add a dynamic color statement to any project, and can create an important point of interest or mood within a room.

The Fresco method of painting using natural pigments on freshly applied plaster is ideal for creating murals. The natural pigments dry and set with the fresh plaster becoming a permanent part of the wall creating a durable matte surface. The Venetian Plaster Company continues to perfect this beautiful art form in our ongoing commitment to create classic wall finishes seen throughout history.

French for “trick the eye” trompe l’oeil is an art technique the artist uses to create an optical illusion making objects appear in 3 dimensions when the object is actually a 2 dimensional painting. The Venetian Plaster Company has several examples of this type of work in their commissions. Incorporating this technique in murals or just adding a touch of whimsy to other decorative finishes, are just a few more ways to enjoy decorative painting in your home or office.
